Assumpta provides specialist consultation across our Additional Needs and Complex Care Services, supporting both clients and care teams to achieve positive outcomes. Her expertise helps ensure that support is delivered in a person-centred, evidence-based manner that promotes independence, wellbeing, communication, and quality of life.

To support continuous learning and professional development, Assumpta facilitates a monthly clinical and reflective practice clinic for managers and care teams. These sessions provide a dedicated opportunity to discuss client support, explore challenges, reflect on practice, develop strategies, and identify opportunities for service improvement. The clinic also enables teams to access specialist guidance on autism, neurodiversity, behaviours of concern, communication differences, sensory needs, and other complex presentations.

Where required, Assumpta also facilitates individual and team-based reflective practice sessions, helping staff to build confidence, resilience, and professional insight when supporting individuals with complex needs. This approach strengthens our trauma-informed and person-centred culture, ensuring staff feel supported while maintaining the highest standards of care. Through this ongoing partnership, Island Home Care is able to provide staff with access to specialist expertise and reflective practice that enhances the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of support delivered to people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, neurodivergent conditions, and other additional support needs.
