Born and raised in Jersey, Ellen spent several years in Brighton to study English Literature and Media at the University of Sussex, and later completing an NCTJ diploma in journalism. She went on to work in the media industry, including six years at BBC Jersey, before deciding to follow a new path more closely aligned with her passion for mental health and wellbeing.
Her career change began on Orchard Ward at St Saviour’s Hospital, where she worked as an Activities Co-ordinator. There, she discovered a deep interest in supporting others through meaningful connection, whether through baking, gardening, crafting, or simply spending quality time with patients. This experience inspired her to begin a master’s degree in the Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing, alongside joining Island Home Care.
Since joining our team, Ellen has quickly become a trusted and compassionate support worker, building meaningful connections and supporting individual’s mental health through thoughtful engagement and person-centred care. Outside of work, Ellen enjoys reading about psychology, spending time with friends, staying active, heading to the beach, and occasionally hitting the dance floor.
