Amanda grew up in Jersey, having moved to the island with her family in 1971. Although she has spent most of her life here, she has also lived in the United States for a number of years, spending time on the East Cost in Florida, and the West Coast in California. She has also lived in Spain.

Amanda has had a broad, client-facing career, and decided that she would like to work in health care having spent time caring for sick relative. Her professional care career stated in 2012 and, since that time, she has had both ‘live-in’ and ‘community care’ roles. She has looked after a broad range of clients, many of which have been living with dementia.
Amanda enjoys travelling and has visited India, Africa and various islands in the Caribbean. She hopes to visit Thailand soon. She studied at Southampton University, and was awarded an Honours Degree in English and Media Studies.
